Are you ready for some football?

The NFL season kicks off this week, and if you’re a fan you’ll want to track upcoming games and recent scores by adding the Scoreboard module. Here’s a walk-through to help you use it.

Click the gear wheel in the top right to open the options menu. To add all the games on the NFL schedule, click the plus sign beside National Football League. Click the Save button and you’ll see all the upcoming games, in-progress scores, and even previous scores in the Yesterday tab.

Maybe you only want to keep up on a few teams. You can add them individually to the Scoreboard module. Open the options menu and browse for a specific football team by clicking on “National Football League.” Select your team’s conference and division, then click the plus sign next to your team’s name.

Or, you can search for your team by name: click the magnifying glass to open up a search box. Find your team in the search results and click the plus sign to add it. Delete teams by clicking the X beside their name in the “My selections” box. When you have all the teams you want, click Save to return to the module.

And the sports goodness doesn’t end there. Check out all the NFL team news feeds offered at Yahoo! Sports, along with other sports and analysis feeds. Add photos from any sport or team by navigating to its photos gallery and clicking the Add to My Yahoo! button.

Sound like too much work? Add the Football page —it covers NFL and NCAAF in news, photos, video, and more. Plus the Scoreboard module is already loaded with the NFL schedule.

Enjoy, sports fans!

  1. How about adding dates to the college football scoreboard? Upcomming games are listed on the Today Scoreboard but without dates.

  2. Rebecca — my Yahoo! Fantasy Sports teams used to automatically show up on my MyYahoo page(s). Now they don’t. Is there a way to manually add them?

  3. Elaine, thanks for bringing that up. The missing dates for NCAA football games is a known issue and we are working to resolve it. I don’t have an ETA for a fix.

Chris, we recently restored the Fantasy Sports module on the new My Yahoo!. Click here to add it to your page.

  5. Please let us have the large team icons back. I really REALLY liked that, and thought it added some style to what most sites do - plain text for scores.

I understand some didn’t like it - fine. Give me a switch to let me see them. I thought it helped me focus in more on the games I wanted to see.

Please allow them to come back.
