TV listings update.

Many of you have experienced problems with your TV Listings module. We want to first apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you, and give you an update on what we’re doing to fix the problem.

What happened?
Yahoo! TV upgraded to a new listings provider in an effort to provide you with more comprehensive and more accurate listings. This upgrade provides more HD channel options and greater time zone accuracy. Unfortunately, this change resulted in a poor experience for many My Yahoo! users.

What are my options?
- If you upgraded to the My Yahoo! beta for an improved TV experience, we want you to know that we’re not quite done with the new My Yahoo!. We hope that you’ll stay tuned for improvements coming in the next few weeks and want to remind you that you can switch back to original My Yahoo!.
- If you’re still using original My Yahoo! (not the beta), we recommend that for now, you access your TV listings directly from Yahoo! TV (http://tv.yahoo.com/listings) while we work to address the problem.
- You can find more details on the Yahoo! TV blog.

Please check back here for updates in the coming days. Thanks for your patience.

Oh my gosh, the My Yahoo Beta is so torturously slow that I can’t even stand to test it. I’m switching back. I have been a strong proponent of My Yahoo since it’s inception, but this Beta is not ready to really be a Beta.

I was wondering the same thing as Liesse00. The times given are all wrong and for some reason after the initial setting of the channels, I only have antenna so there are only 5 channels, all but one channel disappeared and won’t return no matter what I do. also if you have the quicklinks portion up it narrows the middle column so much that you have to scroll to see everything. Hope you can work things out.

When I go the the TV listings to update my provider, I click on rabbit ears, but it doesn’t list any options for my provider. How do I choose my provider? Right now I have the wrong channels listed and can’t fix it without choosing a provider.

Thanks!

The provider selection for Yahoo TV is totally screwed up. There are no listings for Comcast Atlanta Digital and HD. NONE.

Thanks Yahoo for one more harrassment.

Thanks so much for the update. So many things have been changing (and sometimes not working) that it’s nice to hear that yes something are performing to specificiation but that someone’s got their eye on it and it working through the problems.

Yahoo! has been my home page almost since the beginning. The last year or so it has been falling apart. Comics not updating; empty TV grids; old news… etc. Yesterday I had to go Beta because the TV grid failed for good. I had a forewarning of trouble when I went to the Yahoo! TV site over the weekend and found your new provider. It doesn’t work either!

What I liked best about the old MyYahoo! was its ‘plain text’ nature. Now gone the way of the dodo.

the tv listings may not load to prime time any longer, it does however load to whatever time it is and updates regularly so it is allways at current time. after editing the module to the correct time and my favorite channels i thought it was really lame cause it did not seem to be changing, then the following day when i turned computer on and went to my yahoo there to my complete suprize the correct time and channels, also it is so much easier to change listing time by clicking on ahead or back arrows and ONLY the tv module changes in a few seconds. before the entire page had to reload, SO MUCH BETTER THIS WAY.

Hi,

I hope the final TV listings solution does not take up so much screen space. With the old version, I could pretty much keep all my key info on one page. With the new layout, and the really thick TV listings layout, I cannot do this.

Performance for me is pretty good for loading the TV listings. Just the large size is a problem.

The new yahoo beta is terrible. Why would yahoo fix something that is not broken? I am seriously considereing changing the home page that I have had for 5 years. Please yahoo, go back to what you had, I see no good in the new my yahoo page.

I like the new Yahoo, but the TV module only has basic cable. The old one had all of the channels. I primarily watch channels besides the ones on basic cable.
The performance is pretty good.

I love My Yahoo! Every change causes some discomfort, but I’m happy to hear you are reviewing/working on the TV problem.

My fantasy sports module is way screwy. Sometimes it doesn’t show up at all, sometimes it lists other people’s teams.

The TV listings forced me to change, which is annoying… I’ll get used to it, I just wish the stuff I am used to having worked correctly.

I cannot pick my tv provider because when I click on “Pick Provider” a blank page comes up, and I have no choices to make. Also, I read in the instructions that that part was on right side, but it is on the left side of my screen. When are you going to get this fixed? It certainly doesn’t look like the change is going to be as good as the tv listings on the regular Yahoo.

What the hay? I closed an enormous box and no longer have have e-mail link?

Why does the left (narrow) bar have to be a third of the screen?

I’ve lost sooo much content per screen! TV is huge and small.

I’ve been with Yahoo! since the beginning, why are you punnishing me?

I’m really enjoying some of the new features on this beta but since you’ve brought up the TV section, I think it needs to go back to the three hour display mainly to show prime time in total. Currently, I think too much time is spent pulling up shorter time periods which personally is an unnecessary waste of time.

On another note, I am having problems getting my entire My Yahoo page to load quickly. It says done but then starts downloading another ad site I believe and then the same action again before I can scroll the page. This is bizarre and definitely frustrating when I have high speed DSL and all other pages load completely in an instant. I figure this is just a bug you’re aware of and working to fix. You guys really are bringing together a far superior My Yahoo once you get the kinks out. Thanks!

It has been nearly half a year, any chances this will ever be corrected. I am tired of looking at listing that aren’t even relevant to my area, and shows that are not really broadcast.
I hope there is a fix sometime soon.

Meh. Tv listings on yahoo? Yahoo has everything, but The only thing I use on yahoo is search and finance.

Anyone know what’s going on with Yahoo TV listings lately? I can’t get any antenna listings anymore (since Jan 1 2009), the grid defaults to a weird time now like 1AM all the time, but no listing info shows, I click on “now” and still no listings come up.

Something happened Sunday, March 15, causing problems with my Yahoo-TV Listings. I’m sure I’m not alone. It continually defaults to Eastern time (I am in Central) and I when I am lucky enough to have some of my favorite channels finally show, it’s never all that I have selected.
